Meeting
Investing in green fuels for seagoing shipping
The roundtable on Seagoing shipping (Zeevaarttafel) aims to provide input for players in the sector who consider investing in the production of renewable fuels to ensure their supply to meet the mandates. For this roundtable, the Platform is hosting an online meeting to map the green fuel options for seagoing shipping. FuelEU Maritime will kick off and RED III will include volumes for the maritime sector in the targets. This in turn will create new market dynamics and require investments in green fuel production volumes. This session is a follow-up activity for the recently published Roadmap fuel transition in the maritime sector.
In this meeting we will map existing green fuel production facilities and announced projects for renewable fuels. We will compare how FuelEU maritime and ETS will stimulate the demand for renewable fuel options and we will investigate how to connect with the Clean Energy Ministerial Partnership, Clean Energy Marine "CEM" Hubs, a public-private platform between energy, maritime, shipping and finance communities to de-risk investments and transform the energy-maritime supply chain.
