Introductie

Zoals op de vorigeALV (10/12/24) aangekondigd, ontstaat er een vacature in het bestuur van Platform Hernieuwbare Brandstoffen wegens het vertrek van een bestuurslid.

Over het Platform

Het PlatformHernieuwbare Brandstoffen (PHB) is een vereniging voor alle stakeholders in deketen en werkt aan de missie van opschalen productie en inzet van hernieuwbarebrandstoffen in de markt om bij te dragen aan het behalen van de Parijs Klimaatdoelen. Het Platform PHB heeft als onafhankelijk innovatie- enkenniscentrum een unieke rol met het informeren van de strategische agendaen het publieke debat.

Het Platform is een actieve vereniging en kent verschillende projectgroepen, o.a. voor communicatie en grondstoffen en het organiseert de zeevaarttafel. Een belangrijk project waar de afgelopen tijd aan gewerkt is met leden is de studie over het toepassenvan massabalansregels voor hernieuwbare brandstoffen in het gas- en kerosinenetwerk. Een ander project gaat over het versterken van detransparantie in de sector met het initiatief voor Clean Fuel Contracts waarinmiddels de NOVE met RVO verdere uitwerking aangeeft. De ALV heeft onlangs besloten tot een taskforce die aan een herijking van de platformstrategie werkt.

De context

In de huidige geopolitieke context komen nieuwe vragen op de hernieuwbare brandstoffenmarkt af. Naast broeikasgasemissie-reductie en kostprijs worden ook energie-onafhankelijkheiden energiebeschikbaarheid belangrijke onderwerp. De energiemarktenworden onvoorspelbaar en dat vraagt om een strategie om de energievoorzieningin Nederland en Europa zo robuust mogelijk te krijgen en de onzekerheden daarin hanteerbaar te maken. Een belangrijk onderdeel van deze fase is het stimulerenvan investeringen die nodig zijn voor het verder opschalen van productiecapaciteit en gebruik in de markt in de hierboven genoemde context.Dat vraagt om het verbeteren van de randvoorwaarden: Hoe komt een rendabelebusiness case tot stand waarbij voldoende investeringszekerheid aanwezig is? Industrieen sectorpartijen articuleren voor de innovatieagenda onderwerpen en projectenvoor verbeteren transparantie, ambitie in duurzaamheid van grondstoffen eninzet in verschillende vraagmarkten. De overheid zou kunnen kijken naarregelgeving, vergunningen en naar fiscaal klimaat (bijv. 10 jaar garantiefiscaal stimuleren) vooral ook voor de midden- en langere termijn.

De rol

Een nieuw bestuurslid zorgt ervoor dat het Platform als vereniging zo goed mogelijk bijdraagt aan de opgave, zoals geformuleerd in de statuten, met de middelen diehet platform daarvoor heeft.

Profiel van nieuw bestuurslid

• In staat om het overkoepelende belang voor degehele sector voorop te stellen
  ‍
• Kennis en ervaring van de(bio)grondstoffenmarkt is een pré
  ‍
• In staat om de strategie te vertalen in deopschalings- en investeringsfase waar de sector nu voor staat
  ‍
• Enige jaren actief in de wereld vanhernieuwbare brandstoffen, heeft hierdoor ook een netwerk in deze sector
  ‍
• Heeft kennis van de markt van hernieuwbarebrandstoffen voor de vervoerssector.
  ‍
• Kennis van relevante Europese wetgeving, hetwetgevingsproces, beleid en een EU-netwerk is een pré
  ‍
• Bijdrage aan evenwichtige afspiegeling van desector in het bestuur

Kandidaatstellingsprocedure

Bestuur vraagtkandidaten hun interesse voor vrijdag 28 maart 2025 kenbaar te maken met eenkorte motivatie. We moedigen aan om contact op te nemen met een van de huidige bestuursleden om over de rol en tijdsinzet te spreken. Het bestuur overlegt inde week van 1 april 2025. Met kandidaten wordt in de eerste twee weken van april een gesprek ingepland met (een afvaardiging van) het bestuur. Het bestuur doet vervolgens een voordracht voor de ALV die rond eind mei 2025 plaatsvindt.

De voorjaars ALV 2025 benoemt het nieuwe bestuurslid.

Introduction

As announced at the previous General Assembly Meeting (10/12/24), there will be a vacancy on the board of PlatformRenewable Fuels due to the departure of a board member.

About the Platform

The Platform Renewable Fuels (PHB) is an association for all stakeholders in the supply chain and works on the mission of scaling up production and deployment of renewable fuels in the market to contribute to achieving the Paris Climate Goals. As an independent innovation and knowledge centre, the Platform PHB has a unique role in informing the strategic agenda and the public debate. See the website and, for example, the campaign Driven by Nature.

The Platform is an active association and has various project groups, including for communication and feedstocks, and it organizes the Roundtable on Seagoing Shipping. An important projectt hat has recently been worked on with members is the study on the application of mass balance rules for renewable fuels in the gas and kerosene network. An other project is about strengthening transparency in the sector with the Clean Fuel Contracts initiative, which the NOVE is now working on with RVO. The GAM recently decided to set up a task force that is working on a recalibration of the platform strategy.

The context

In the current geopolitical context, new questions are emerging in the renewable fuel market. In addition to greenhouse gas emission reduction and cost price, energy independence and energy availability are also becoming important topics. The energy markets are becoming unpredictable, and that requires a strategy to make the energy supply in the Netherlands and Europe as robust as possible and to make the uncertainties manageable. An important part of this phase is to stimulate investments that are necessary for further scaling up production capacity and use in the market in the context mentioned above. This requires improving the preconditions: How is a profitable business case created with sufficient investment security? For the innovation agenda, industry and sector parties articulate topics and projects for improving transparency, ambition insustainability of raw materials and deployment in various demand markets. Thegovernment could look at regulations, permits and the tax climate (e.g. taxincentives for a 10-year warranty), especially for the medium and longer term.

The role

A new board member ensures that the Platform as an association contributes as well as possible to the task, as formulated in the articles of association, with the resources tha tthe platform has for this. 

Profile of new board member

• Able to put the overarching interest for the entire sector first
  ‍
• Knowledge and experience of the (bio)feedstocks market is an advantage
  ‍
• Able to translate the strategy into the scale-up and investment phase that the sector is now facing
  ‍
• Active in the world of renewable fuels for several years, also has a network in this sector
  ‍
• Has knowledge of the market of renewable fuels for the transport sector.
  ‍
• Knowledge of relevant European legislation, the legislative process, policy and an EU network is an advantage
  ‍
• Contribution to a balanced reflection of the sector in the board

Application procedure

Board asks candidates to express their interest before Friday, March 28, 2025 with a short motivation. We encourage you to contact one of the current board members to discuss the role and time commitment. The board will consult in the week of April 1, 2025. An interview with candidates will be scheduled in the first two weeks of April with (a delegation of) the board. The board will then make a nomination for the General Assembly Meeting that will take place around the end of May 2025.

The spring General Assembly Meeting 2025 will appoint the new board member.
