Bayer acquires camelina assets from Smart Earth

Bayer recently announced that they acquired camelina assets from Smart Earth Camelina Corp. to advance biofuels. This further strengthen the company’s goal to help decarbonise the transport sector and deliver regenerative agriculture solutions through the investment and development of intermediate oilseed crop. This in turn will help meeting the growing demand for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.
Camelina is a new oilseed option for the production of renewable fuels which can be particularly interesting for farmers to have as a profitable low-carbon intermediate crop option. Camelina is a short-season, drought-tolerant and low-input crop which can be grown on marginal land or in-between crops.
