ETIP: 10th Stakeholder Plenary Meeting about renewable fuels
THE INDISPENSABLE ROLE OF BIOENERGY AND RENEWABLE FUELS IN THE GREEN TRANSITION
The ETIP Bioenergy will be holding its 10th Stakeholder Plenary Meeting from 16-18 November 2021 online.
The event will start on 16 November with a session on “Renewable Fuels and their market readiness” that will focus on the aviation and maritime sectors. The aim is to address the market perspective from the point of view of technological readiness and capacity expansion potential of both sectors.
As part of session 2 on 17 November, the latest trends in advanced bioenergy technologies will be demonstrated. This will cover topics such as new products from lignocellulosic sugars, upgrading of biocrude from hydrothermal liquefaction and biomass to liquid processing via Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
Challenges and possible solutions for broadening the sustainable biomass feedstock base for Europe will be addressed during session 3 on 18 November. Among others, this will include discussions on the impacts of the REDIII on the provision of biomass for energy use from agriculture and the forestry sector. The conference will be closed by a panel discussion in the afternoon on 18 November, which will take a look at the contribution that bioenergy in Europe should make in view of the Fit for 55 package and the Green Deal.
